Office Policies


We are committed to providing you with top quality, consistent healthcare. We have the following policies to help ensure that your have access to your provider and their services in a safe and healing environment.

Prescriptions:

We will send your prescriptions directly to your pharmacy to ensure your medications are available as quickly as possible while avoiding the risk of any lost prescriptions.

 

Prescription Refills:

For any prescriptions that are routinely taken, we ask that you request a refill directly from your pharmacy 5 days prior to running out. Your provider will send the refill directly back to your pharmacy and will contact you if any follow up appointment is necessary.

 

Urgent Prescription Refill Policy:

We are able to provide prescriptions urgently in emergency situations, but there is a $10 fee for any urgent prescription refills that cannot wait the possible 5 days wait period. 

 

Narcotic/Controlled Substances:

Due to the risk of addiction and misuse of controlled medications, our office requires a signed “Controlled Substance Agreement” for your safety, as well as that of your provider. Your provider will discuss this with you if any prescriptions for potentially addictive or dangerous medications are necessary for continuous use.  

 

Electronic Notifications:

We are striving to provide the most up to date medical care for our patients and have embraced digital technology to help facilitate this. We are now able to send emails for appointment reminders, patient information, and provider feedback for medical questions. 

No Harassment Policy:

We want Georgina Family Health to be a welcoming environment that promotes healing. As such, we are not able to allow any ongoing aggressive, hostile, or inappropriate behavior towards the staff, the providers, or towards other patients. If repeated infractions are seen, we may be required to withdrawal our services unless the behavior can be corrected. 

Emergency Appointments: 

We offer same-day urgent appointments 6 days as week.

There appointments are designed to ensure you have direct access to the Georgina Family Health providers for your urgent medical issues and concerns. 

These appointments are intended for single-issue, acute problems (5-10 minute appointments). If your medical issues is for a more chronic issue or if multiple issues need to be addressed, you will be requested to schedule a follow up visit to ensure there is sufficient time to address more chronic or other, less acute issues. 

Forms: 

Our providers work hard to provide timely care for our ever-growing practice and we strive to complete any forms as promptly as possible, but, we request that you allow up to 3 weeks for any forms to be completed.  Please ensure, if you have a form that needs to be completed to notify our office as soon as possible and to sign your consent to release information (if present), prior to dropping it off at our office.
